Debating
Building persuasive arguments, critical thinking and confident delivery
Debating develops critical thinking, persuasive communication and the confidence to speak under pressure. Our small-group classes focus on argument structure, evidence, rebuttal, questioning and strategic thinking.
Students learn through hands-on debate practice, taking on different roles, responding to opposing arguments and participating in regular mock debates. The small-group format ensures every student has the opportunity to speak, challenge ideas and receive individual feedback.
Through collaborations with university debating clubs, students gain exposure to experienced debaters, workshops and real debating environments, with opportunities to participate in debate competitions and practical events throughout the year.
